Momo Posted October 2, 2006 Share Posted October 2, 2006 The one time I thought I could slip in here before anyone else and Mommafitz has beat me! to do. We had a busy weekend and are still a little tired. I spent the biggest part of this weekend working/volunteering at a car event. It is a hill climb timed event with entries from all over the country. My son is one of the founders/organizers of the event so I was a jack of all trades. I was the money taker at the gate, the food deliverer to the volunteers, the babysitter in a pinch, an unofficial picture taker, a mechanics aide, a shuttle service, etc. We had glorious weather Saturday. Saturday night a thunderstorm rolled in and it rained. However, it dried out quickly Sunday morning so the race was not affected. It is alot of fun even though it is "work". Skagitgal Posted October 2, 2006 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Good Morning All. I'm sure glad this is Mon. We got home on Fri. morning, got out of that truck abd hit the ground running. Went to Widbey Is. & got our backhoe, then back home to tear the heck out of our back yard. We have moved 5 trees, a dozen or more shrubs, took out a "gross" bathtub type fish pond that raised bazillions of insects. Link to comment

Laundry is already on the line, the house is tidy, DD and I have walked 2 miles, and now I am sitting down for some computer time. Later today I have to start putting the garden to bed for the winter, finish the laundry, take a mile walk, and muck out the goat barn. Oh yes, and shower! A few minutes ago I heard a terrible screaming coming from the neighbor's house. I ran out to check, feeling positive they were being murdered. Turns out, they bought a piglet! lovinit Posted October 2, 2006 Share Posted October 2, 2006 I'm home from work with Bronchitis, after a month long holiday too..........they won't be happy with me! Dh found three kittens someone had obviously abandoned - they are tame little babies so he is spoiling them with warm milk and egg. I need to go pick up some food orders from the health food store and then lie low to kick this illness. Phneumonia is troublesome for me and I don't want to get that far. It is a beautiful fall day here, but indoors is where I need to be. Have a great day everyone. Link to comment

Yesterday I got to finally go out for out pool league lunch (from the season that ended March 05!). We went to the Tulalip Casino to a buffet they have. It was so yummy, I had french toast, eggs with ham and cheese, bacon, a sausage patty, a cheese blintz, a slice of roast beef, sweet and sour chicken, stir fry veggies, mongolian beef, and some desserts (little tiny things, so I tried 4 or 5 different ones). If there was anything else, I can't remember, I did have about 3 plates worth though! It was delicious, told DH if he ever wants to take me out for something very special, that would be a great place! Talked about getting ladies pool league going again this year. And maybe making 3 player teams, instead of 4. That way we'd only have to have 9 games a night instead of 16. That would make us have shorter nights (hopefully!). I have 2 friends that both said they are really interested in playing, and I'm pretty sure they would want to be on my team (even though I'm not any good, I just love to play and it's soooo nice to get away one night of the week and not be "mommy" or "honey", lol) So hopefully we can get enough teams together to start up again! Sunnyboysx3 Posted October 2, 2006 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Hi all Worked a couple of days last week and am hoping to get a call this afternoon... Dh is back to work, some normalcy finally so I hope that will be a positive stepping stone to his recovery. It's a chilly foggy day out there so I've got the wood stove puffing away, so far I've done a load of laundry and the dishes are done. Will prepare fixings for burritos for dinner tonight.
