Chlorine doesn't kill Bird Flu virus???

There is some evidence that Bird Flu CAN be passed on through drinking water and showering.

It appears that no one can be certain that the Bird Flu virus will be safely destroyed in our city water systems, which often depend on Chlorine. (Mostly on the second page of above.)

Probably not from pouring it, but I would use a lid when I boiled it. Using a lid conserves heat, keeps the liquid from boiling away as steam, and keeps it from splattering. I wouldn't go spraying contaminated water around though.

If you need to fill a canner, and have space for one or two jars, fill them with water, and can the water. That is one way to know you will have good water. I think I have a few quarts of water right now on the shelf because I needed to add a jar of something to the canner. smileHAVEAGOODDAY.gifHUGS34.gif
