GirlNextDoor
I have had fried sweet potatoes, but, not fried carrots. I know some people boil/mash them, but, never heard of frying. Link to comment
Amishway Homesteaders
SO FUNNY! I made these just last night. first I boil them in water for about 10 minutes until fork tender. then fry them in butter and add a bit of dill and salt. Man are they good! Supper was: leftover roast beef (sliced w/leftover gravy) fried potatoes (boiled then fried with 'Mrs Dash') carrets (boiled then fried with dill) homemade grape juice jello and cookies ** cost about $1.25 for 2 people with leftover potatoes for Breakfest then next day. GirlNextDoor
Do they come out like french fries? Link to comment
Annarchy
My mother used to raw fry them. Sliced thin like potatoes and fried. She also used to boil them and then fry the left overs. Link to comment
Momo
In the south they will fry anything! And I do mean anything. Link to comment

snapshotmiki
I heard that they had fried butter at one of the State fairs in the South! How do they even do that? Link to comment
Motherhen
I'm not sure I'm following this thread but you asked about fried butter. I do this when I make homemade dumplings. To fry the butter, just fry it til its red or (burnt) stirring continually. Then pour it over the dumplings and add salt. YUMMMMM....now I want them for tomorrow night's supper! Link to comment
snapshotmiki
I was talking Southern Fair food as in deep fried butter. Sorry about the thread drift! Motherhen, yours really sounds good! I have never tried that. Link to comment
Canned Nerd
I heard that they had fried butter at one of the State fairs in the South! I assume they would start with frozen butter since it would not soften immediately and allow time for the coating and frying process. I'm having a cholesterol heart attack just thinking about it.
