Jeepers
My son got a new kitten this last weekend. It is such a cute tiny fuzz ball. It will be nice company for him too. Anyway, he had me come over yesterday to see her. When I was getting ready to leave he was in the kitchen and asked me to come in there for a minute. I went in and he opened 2 of the cabinet doors. I need a minute to compose myself here before I continue....... Okay, inside the two cabinets was FULL of canned food. From back to front. So, even if they never say anything, some things we preach to them may eventially seep in. He knows I'm prepping for both of us during the long haul but just knowing he is prepared for the short term, until he gets here...was worth more than gold. I'm going to get him a case of water to store under his bed too. Actually, I'm giving myself more credit than I deserve. His job has cut back to 4 days a week for 2 months and that is really what put the bee in his bonnet ball cap. Quote Link to comment
Mt_Rider
Whoa......he heard you and ACTED ON HIS OWN BEHALF? Wow, I'm still waiting to hear those tender, poignant words: "Mom, you were right...." MtRider [ ...it would be NICE to hear them BEFORE ] Quote Link to comment

CrabGrassAcres
Aww, Mt Rider yelled 'Dibs' first! 'I' wanted that lovely empty cupboard! Quote Link to comment
coastygirl
Wow -- good for him !!!! There is something about an "empty cupboard" that just does not sit right ! Men sometimes do not care about it---but women----oh my, will NEVER stand for it. Cupboards at my house beg to be filled ! Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
That empty cabinet gave me shivers. Not only were his filled from back to front but he had the cans stacked up to the top of the cabinet. He said he liked the looks of it and was going to keep it that way. It was a proud day for me. Quote Link to comment
Mt_Rider
Victory, Jeepers. Ya done good with that boy! I have to say that DD2 loves Costco and has figured out the savings in bulk buying there. It's a start..... MtRider [...... CGA - ] Quote Link to comment
Midnightmom
I think he has made some purchases since then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but it's still a good thing that he lives really close to his brother (who DOES get it). Quote Link to comment
