    Hey Wes??

I haven't seen my ds since Sunday night when we all went to bed. He came in at 430 Monday morning with his dad and kissed me goodbye and went to Grandmas.. He will be home on the bus in just a little while. I am looking forward to him being home. I hope I feel like making dinner for everyone this evening and can stop myself from being a grouch.. I kept last years chore schedule on the fridge all summer and pointed it out the other night, and said Ok everyone you know the routine. Check the night, check to see what chore you have and just do them...Less fighting that way. He will be home 2 hours before the girls.. His school is on a heat schedule.. What I was trying to say in the begining and got sidetracked as usual, was he made our scarecrow last fall. And I might send him out tonight to build one. He loves hands on work like that. Uh oh.. We may have to go get some straw from the neighbors.. It's time to be buying some anyway. Wes I wanna see pictures of the apron display too!
  3. MMMMM peanut butter is my favorite! I bought some peanut butter chips a few weeks ago intending to do just that. Have I don't it yet? Well, no.. I bought some chocolate chunks to throw in them as well. Today I have a headache, and a stiff neck, I thought I was gonna be able to perk up after I ate and get some cleaning done as this is my day off. But it looks like me and the computer might go to bed and watch a movie together.. It could be possible that I haven't had any caffiene yet today and it's 1:14pm.. So I just got me a drink of dew hoping it would revive me.. I will be thinking of those cookies unike.. BTW I have plenty of freezer space left if you run out! Have a fun time! D
  4. Afternonn! Well except for going out and feeding and watering, and a little bit of Have a great afternoon and evening ya'll..
  5. Hey Hill? How did you get to be so knowledgeable? I can't wait to get on every morning to see what else you have come up with! Are you related to Wes??? LOL.. Still waiting to see those wedding pics too!

    ONE DAY FOR SUGAR

We'd have to start slowwwwwwwww. Maybe start cutting it out one day a week. Then twos days the next week and so on... I drink heavily sugared tea here.
  7. Sure enough plenty of room on the back 40!!! Come on over! I might even kick that ole hen out of my good front room furniture for ya! Oh waffles.. Lil DD would love that... But I don't have a waffle iron.. Hey how about Pancakes.. You could freeze those and bag them too... And bacon? You could freeze cooked bacon on a cookie sheet and then when frozen bag them up and just take out enough for one or two servings and pop em in the microwave too!
  8. I like your ideas Hill. I wish I had some of my own to throw in.. My kids love pizza burritos.. I wonder if those would be ok to freeze and just microwave one or two when needed.. We just simply take pizza sauce and mozz cheese spread them both around an pop one in the microwave for about 30 seconds! Fast and easy.. I wouldn't see why you couldn't freeze them... Hmm I might try that.. And as long as you cook your meat I wouldn't see why you couldn't add hamburger sausage, ham, or whatever you like... What do you think?
  9. Well I don't get off until 8pm cst... But I will try to be there when I get home..... Uh oh Victoria Secret? Umm try walmart flannel.........
  10. I don't think I have ever had a problem freezing whole milk.. What's the trouble? Does it seperate or something?
  11. OK my rooster is starting to get aggressive.. Is there a way to prevent this rather than the stew pot? He's a young spring bird. Very big and beautiful.. But he "pecked" lil dd the other night in the hindend... Any suggestions or do we just get rid?

    Hey Wes??

Hey make sure you take pics of your scarecrow and send them to me.. I really wanna see how they turned out!
  13. I think my back space is broken.... Just kidding.. Just wondering where you be lately...
  14. Work went really well today. Thanks for the encourgment Peaceful. Becca did dh clean the closet yet? Slgrubbs it sounds like you had a busy busy day just driving.. Snowmom I love the first frost, and those cool nights. Unike? How was the potroast? Di? is your splitter electric or gas? Country: beet pickles? Oh and Beverly Lewis is my absolute favorite author beside Carla Emery that is. I have the Lancaster County set. And am now on the third of Abrams daughters.. I can't wait until the 4th one comes out in October.. Well I hope I didn't miss anyone.. As I said work was fun today. I made the catering deliveries. Worked the grill, waited on a table ( made a dollar tip) washed dishes, ran the french fryer, the register, and was trusted to run it by myself while she ran a couple of errands! She aslo had me make the deliveries in her car! How cool is that? I must have a trusting face.. DH is outside fishing.. I made swiss steak for dinner and served it over mashed potatoes, we also had fresh tomatoes, green beans and apple sauce. Need to clean up from dinner. Get the girls homework finished. Dry a load of laundry.. Dh just had me cut his hair so now I need a shower too.Ugh but first I have to read this Enlish story for my daughter which I can't understand the first sentence let a lone the whole entire story..This is freshman english? The Cask of Amontillado? What is that? Oh well have a good evening all! -Dawn
  15. I would have to say fall is one of my favorites. I love the smell of the air in the fall. The changing colors, crisp cool mornings, not having to mow, the first lighting of the fire place and the smell of wood smoke..Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love decorating for fall. Straw bales, scarecrows, corn shocks, fall seems to be the most relaxing time there is. The kids go back to school, fires don't have to be tended to every day yet, yards aren't having to be mowed as often, fans and air condidtioners can be shut off. Time for bread and pie making. Canning and preserving comes to an end.. The gardens are over... There's not much I don't like about fall.. Here is a song my Mom taught me and my children when we were all little, so it reminds me of her every year! Come little leaves said the wind one day, over the meadows and far away, put on your jackets of red and gold, summer is gone and the days grow cold. Soon the leaves heard the winds loud call, down they came fluttering one and all Over the brown fields they danced and they flew singing the sweet little songs they knew..
  16. Good Morning everyone! How was your weekend? Ours went well. Today is the first full day of school. The girls just walked out the door to walk the driveway to the bus.. My first day alone in awhile and I got called to go to work yesterday. I'll will be working noon hours at the catering service there in town. Since they cater to the school I will be home when the kids are, which is nice. I will be here when they leave for school and I will be here when they get home. I agreed to work some Friday evenings. But that's no big deal. This is a blessing for me. We need the money right now in the worst way. She is going to pay me 6.50 an hour. I know that doesn't seem much compared to the 9 an hour I was making before, but it's a 3 mile drive compared to 50. And I was gone from 730 to 5pm some times later. It will indeed be a lot less money every month but it means a whole lot more time to spend at home and be here for my kids. That's priceless.. The sun is shining nicely outside.. And all I hear are the fan motor to the computer and a cricket.. And the occasional cat's meow. I love my children and I would absolutely die for them. But peace of mind never hurt anyone. Oh there goes the rooster.. What's everyone doing this week since the canning has slowed down a bit? I think I will go do some to everyone, have a blessed day!!!!
  17. I usally take hot water and add lemon and honey.. We use alot of vicks in the winter.
  18. This morning we found our cat on the road as I was taking my girls to school. She had been hit and died sometime in the night. She was our oldest cat.. She was wild when we found her in a brush pile on a country road, we brought her home and tamed her, she loved everyone. I know my dd is very upset by this.. She claimed her as hers and everytime I talked about getting rid of the cats she would say No one's taking my cat anywhere. It's gonna be hard to replace her. Too bad it was a good day for her as it was her first day of high school.. So her day has been kinda bittersweet.. I guess we will wait until Mike gets home and bury her proper like.
  19. Hey Hill? What kind of wax? Like parafin? What about something like water glass? I thought I posted this to you the other day, but I would love to see the pictures of your Hillbilly Wedding! It's sounds totally cool.. Please?
  20. That was sweet! The apron is one of my favorite subjects! They are perfect for carrying in loads of tomatoes and corn from the garden! Also for people like me who seem to drop everything I am eating on my top! They are my oversized bibs!
  21. Guess that means I will have to give up my lounge chair in order to make room for our new friends! Wait a minute, how's come that chicken still gets her lounger? I say "dinner"?
  22. Well now vices......That's a whole other TOPIC!!! LOL
  23. Poor Dar, hey I am sympathetic with ya! These gals are killing me as I roll on the floor laughing.. Cat you need to put an picture of you on your msn group page so I can mentally picture you with that soaker water gun...
  24. We don't own any antenna or sattelite, so TV watching here is just old movies we have on hand.. Funny thing is while I took DS to get his haircut for school they had a tv on.. I got sucked in watching Regis and Kelly... We call TV the Eye Magnet here.. Eyes are taking it all in and the ears are shut off to everything else... As I said before we are finally getting some much needed rain. I think this is the first rain we have had all month.. For that I am greatful, I was fearful that the well would go dry.. So today is going to be spent inside just finishing up some stuff in the house.. Oh!!! Doug Stone is gonna be at a Harvest Picnic in a town near by tomorrow night. I hope DH will take us.. That doesn't happen very often and it's a free concert! I am so excited.. When you come from Podunk you don't get much entertainment except watching the chickens peck the ground ( which I find very entertaining at times)So it will probably be packed and I won't get to see him. I know he hasn't done much in the last several years as far as music is concerned but I still love his old stuff. And can you believe John Anderson was there last night? I wish I had known that, I could have gotten dh there for sure. Ya'll have a great day!
  25. I don't call that boring. Slgrubb I call it Peaceful. And don't worry what the rest of us think. If we thought what you do was boring then we would all be boring. The girls are at school this morning for a couple of hours and it's just me and ds.. I promised him I would take him to breakfast.. Just Him and Me. So we are off to do just that. It's finally raining here. Well he's wanting to go so I will write more later. Have a great Morning. Dawn
