She carefully chooses settings, spins the dials, and adjusts the levers. She pulls the lever, and the curtain rolls back...** Sunshine warms the air as we view a glorious autumn day in the meadow, surrounded by fiery reds, yellows, oranges, and the deep, rich greens of evergreens. Birds practice their flying skills as they dodge and swoop and dip high above the soft blue canopy. Others choose to sing with the soft strains of the band playing as our friends gather from all directions. The blue canopy is decorated with soft swags of shimmering fabrics gathered with fragrant flowers of multicolored hues. Trails of ivy swing in the slight breeze. Huge vases of flowers stand on the tables; colorful candles await the evening's continuance. The tables are fully laden with delicious foods of all kinds... piles of roasted meats, grilled vegetables, colorful salads, inventive finger foods, and marvelous cut fruits. A mound of chocolates surround the tremendous birthday cake, flanked by a variety of fresh cheesecakes. Summer's end brings a certain sense of sadness at the end of summer's sun and warmth, but autumn's joyful burst of color reminds us of the promises of future seasonal changes; each season will bring its own celebrations, its own comforts, and its own treasures... Happy birthday, Lois and Mommawright... we celebrate your day with love and joy. May this day be bright and filled with love. And may the coming year bring the fulfillment of all your dreams.
