  1. Try being 4'11", then everything is toooooo high.
  2. Thank the Lord for you and Lori and your willingness to help in their time of trouble.
  3. Looks like work, but maybe I don't know what a buttercream transfer is. Also, looks good enough to eat-
  4. Yes, to all the above, including roasted chicken being better. You are such a good woman, and I am so proud to "know" you.
  5. So glad to see you back, settled in your "new" home, and beginning to work on getting things ready for the future. I do remember you and your trials, and happy you worked it out.
  6. You are doing a wonderful job, just being willing to care for your father. His disease will not let him be the man you love, but you love him anyway, good times and bad. May tomorrow be a better day for both of you. You are a wonderful daughter.

Did you know there is only one syllable in the number "4"? DD learned that when we moved here.
  8. You are such an encouragement to all of us. Happy Birthday!
  9. Hopefully, none of the rest of us will ever have to walk a mile in your shoes. And may the road you walk from now on be peaceful.
  10. Here is an unusual tip, I hope. I had stored some pool shock in a pantry. It was in the original package (plastic bag) and then in a gallon jar. A couple of years later I was reading about pool shock being potentially dangerous, so I gave it to someone with a pool. Now I am finding store bought cans of food in the same pantry rusting. Some brands and certain foods seems to be rusting more, such as pumpkin. Nothing has rusted through, but food is being used up, given away, and cans being sanded. I believe rust also just spreads by itself if not caught. It also rusted some metal shelving in my DS's pantry.
  11. That is very scary, and a whole lot of trouble to correct. So sorry.
  12. A little OT here, but in one grocery store I asked if the potatoes were new or last year's crop. Two young produce men tried to tell me potatoes are harvested all year and only in storage until they ordered them. Then we noticed the best looking russets are now in 8 pound bags and up in price-and just came in. The ones on sale were much "older" looking. Not being a "farmer", I may be mistaken in thinking potatoes don't grow all year, up North anyway. We have not gotten enough rain out of Isaac remnants to make a difference in our drought.
  13. Happy Birthday to Westbrook, one of my all time favorites.
  14. Not nearly as busy as yours, but I did accomplish some rotating, wash/hang out towels, now shelling a few field peas to freeze. Watching for the remnants of Isaac, too.
  15. The jar lifter alone is worth that. I went for years without one.
  16. Hugs to you, and your DH. Hopefully, some day this will all settle down. Don't know how you do it.
  17. In a small way, I would like for my junk drawer to "burn", lol. Wonder what would happen if I just turned it upside down and junked it all? Good warning though. I never heard of this before.
  18. Kitchen scissors. Never saw the need for them, then DF gave me DM's when she died, and I use the all the time. They even cut through bone.
  19. No idea, except to say that anytime I made jelly, the outcome never matched the chart???
  20. So glad you are handing this over to someone you approve of. Maybe she and you parents will even become friends in a way. You have done more than I could imagine, and what you have handled has made my trials seems small. Go have a wonderful time with your dear, dear husband.
