Same here! we are seeing a more and more as we pick for Market this year then in the past. They must like the 'dry' weather we are having because I am NOT!

So here comes Summer when prices for Fruits and Vegetables SHOULD be cheaper BUT with all the weird weather around here things will not be cheap, IF we can get them at all! No upstate Apples due to freezing temps in early Spring. No Cherries either (just got the word we will not be picking this year). Peaches are hit and miss, and others are not coming down in price at all this year and bins are stores are low and not the best pickings. So If you plan to can what are you doing to save money at the markets? I thought this post might be a good reminder of what we can do.

Both indoor cats? They will only eat dry cat food and it must be 'flavored with fish or salmon' NO bits of meats? They will not eat any meat we have for Dinner. IF we eat on the floor (don't ask) One will eat the mashed potatoes and the other steals the carrots. Tobie will lick at cow’s milk but not goat’s milk? Maggie LOVES Olives but she digs out the pimento (red) and eats them like crazy and leaves the olive (green)? A mouse got into the house and they both chased it around and whenever they pounced on it would lift a paw and 'meow' <--- mean RUN MOUSE! All at once they jumped on it and when the paws came up it didn't move. One of them just kept hitting it and looking at me <---- dead batteries Dad? I had to pick it up and carry it outside. When eating in bed they will sit there looking at us as we eat the hamburgers begging for a French fry or a potato chip to lick. Reach out with the burger and Tobie will eat the bread but not the meat? AND we will not even get started on how they drink their water! Tobie drink from a rabbit bottle on the wall, and LOVE her baby bottle that she holds while I squeeze the water out for her to kick/suck. Maggie will drink out of a glass BUT only when we put it on a coast by the dinner table (they both drink this way while we eat and will just sit there if we forget to put down the glass, no meowing at all. Up in bed at night they both have little rabbit water bottles and we each have to have a cat on each side of bed drinking. Sometimes Tobie will rush to finish her and run across our legs to ‘help’ Maggie finish. BUT other than THAT they are just house cats...................................................

OK, but how do they keep those little hats on? These recipes would be great to have at times like BUT don't wait until then to copy them. Seeing our 2 cats are both Vegetarians we will have to do something a bit different for them?

lots of calls on the scanner on the 4th with the heat so high and lots of people out in parks (in the sun) and a bunch of boaters needing help as well. 2 calls for people hurt from setting off their own Fireworks! Now it is the 5th and things can get back to normal. <---- and just what the heck is normal anymore! LOL

Yes, isn't it funny that MOST people will not pass this test BUT if you want to come into this Country You have to pass it? They just had a big swearing in being it was the 4th of July.

NOT good news! We are having a small drought here that is starting to have some farmers a bit worried. I don't like (yes I do) to have to go out at 6 am and water the gardens every other day!

our garden hose is BLACK so it heats up very hot if left on the ground . We have done this before to get hot water for washing up ( in wash pan) . BUT Not the best for making instant coffee or for cooking being it was in the hose ( NOT food safe plastic) so remember that.

eatting it fresh : Squash, zucchini ,onion stir fry! Just slice and cook in a bit of oil in fry pan add salt and pepper if you want. Some nights that is all we have, it is so good with some Galic bread to go with it! Man I want some now! and it is 2 am.

any help in doing Mushrooms? buy freeze dried now but getting pricy, so maybe I could dry them when on sale? I know they will not be like freeze dried but could still use them in stuff I cook. thanks,

BUT, how much more will it cost to buy a self cleaner? I know the one self cleaner I had I had to 'lock it' before cleaning, and that made it seal tight (as well as NOT let you open it)? also I like gas stoves for if the power goes out we can still cook.
