  1. If I had the funds I would have the ticket
  2. A ticket to Nashville would be a nice prize.
  3. It smells pretty yummy in our kitchen. There is a chicken carcas, and some dried vegetables, simmering in the crock pot for Tuesday's lunch. There is a cyber bowl full for Mt. R. and anyone else not feeling well.
  4. Did we miss anything good? Moving/sale etc....
  5. We had some of our nephew's homemade deer sausage. Dh had macaroni and beans with his. There was pot luck at church earlier.
  6. When is your first dance? Great going Kappy!
  7. My most recent "big reads" were "Fall of the Giants" and "Winter of the World" by Ken Follett. They are the first two of a tilogy, the third coming ????? They are political in nature, and follow five families through both world wars. They shed some light on survival skills, and what a goverment is capable of doing to its people.
  8. When I worked at a Senior's care home, someone brought in a baby lamb. A lady, in her 90s, and who had been a teacher, had never even seen one before. I was very surprised at that. Another resident, who in the "years" I worked there had NEVER had any one visit him, cried with joy when I placed that wiggly tailed baby in his arms. I will never forget his great pleasure and gratitude over that tiny lamb.
  9. Remember that when things aren't easy for you, HE can make it better, " with Ease". You are surrounded by Mrs.S. family too.........
  10. Yes we hope all is well in your world too.
  11. Our garden space is under a mountain of snow right now. Dh is out, again, plowing after yesterdays storm. Snow drifted across the highways, stayed and iced everything, causing closures on many. We didn't run the school bus today, and probably won't be able to tommorow either.
  12. Sorry Sleepy Snail, I don't have a link, but I do plan to see if the store still carries the clothes pins and purchase some more. If they still carry them I'll send you some. Philbe told me how to post a picture - maybe I can make that work.
  13. Oh how it hurts us. I'm glad you are able tor remember him today with a smile. I think my 17 year old cat is showing signs of dimentia. she yeowls around the house very loudly, then will settle and purr as though the world is right again. I had been worried that she was in pain but the vet did a complete work up on her - she's fine.
  14. Oh how much fun to spend some time this morning on the dance floor........ Philbe and Jeepers we could eat up a day giggling and laughing, I'm "couponing" now for the "depends" we will need.
  15. Hurry back as soon as you can.
  16. Don't anyone mess with ma and pa Steel............Good to know you and yours are doing well ma Steel. We were in ND this past week and were able to do a bit of stocking at lower prices. I'm now the velveeta, spam queen!
  17. Mine sound like the kind that "themartianchick" uses. They're large, with a strong spring, have a bottom "loop", about the size of your thumb and pointer finger touching together (with the opening pointing down) but they fit tightly on the line at the top of the loop. The loop holds blue jeans and bulky items well, but the pins stay put to keep the clothes from sliding down the line if the wind gets too strong. I use mine in freezing temperatures and they have not cracked or broken in the three or four years that I have had them.
  18. We spent a goodly amount of time watching a pair of fox hunt for mice, and just hang out in the sunny, warm, weather yesterday morning. They stayed around so long because our dog was busy on the other side of the house. She was eating up all of the stale cereal and crackers we had put out for the partdridge (sp)??, that had been parading past the front window. I thought to myself - This is why she is a bird dog, she goes after the bird food, not the birds! She let the wild ones scurry past her while she laid there and watched them. An amusing Saturday morning for us.
  19. Hello Friend! Welcome to our circle.
  20. I bought a pork loin today and saved $1.00 per kg. to cut it into chops ourselves. It is all portioned out, vacume sealed and "squeezed" into the freezer.
  21. When Philbe teaches me how!!!!!???? I'll post a picutre of our beautiful white Percheron horse ( she was a gun metal grey as a filly). We have other horses too but "Eden" is our BIG baby.
  22. You could put your spices in a snack size baggie inside the vac pack. sometimes I just fold a Paper towel piece at the top of the bag.
  23. We're warmer here again, after a couple of -46 and -48 days. That change came with a heavy wet snow and RAIN this morning, so I was busy having a very early shower, filling the tub with water, cleaning up dishes, and putting a roast beef in the oven. With the weight of the snow and rain we were concerned that the power may go down. It was a terrible blizzard most of the morning, but has cleared to a beautiful sunny day now. Dh was talking to one of our friends this morning, telling him about our efforts to be a bit prepared just in case. I don't like him telling people our "business" but do realize that he is more on board with prep than he ever was before, and is beggining to try to give people some good ideas. Dh has moved a mountain of snow down to the bottom of the yard. I think he was having a bit of fun with it this afternoon, enjoying the sun and warmer temps too. It wasn't so much fun cleaning up the two feet of snow that had built up against the front door, and piled in onto the floor when I opened that door to let the dogs out.
  24. I enjoyed that clip Philbe, and I think that dh would like it too. I will be viewing it again later. Dh was doing snow removal right out front of the house and bits were hard to hear.
