  1. Once upon a time I thought I would like to have a million to bestow. Of course every town may not be like this one..where every one has their hand out for money but would not think about doing a hair of work. The more you give the more they want. There are those that genuinely need money and those are the ones I would find a way to help. But buy a ticket no way.
  2. No chicken! Check all labels, this will include poultry fat. Chicken is one of the top allergens for dogs now. You mentions no grains but remember chickens total feed is grain. There is a lot of poultry which is cheap do naturally it will go into dog food. But the poultry is being shipped to China for processing and back...... Grains are GMO.... My dog has taken 6 months to be cleansed and just a bite or two can make sores and cause her to bloat. I am using Victor Yukon River Canine Formula. It has no chicken products..Including eggs. I feel it is lacking and give her coconut oil and raw beef liver occasionally. Although she stays hungry she no longer cries with a stomach ache or the terrible itching from within.
  3. Yesterday there was lying computers here and there. Mind you just small things but really.. So she emails me and says it is 55. Later she emails me and says it is 38 that her computer did not update. My computer said it was raining and 35 . It did not update either until later in the afternoon.
  4. I had Colorado pintos raised on a friends farm. And cornbread with butter.
  5. I downloaded one and it did not go to Kindle though that was the destination. But as far as I know only books from Amazon can go to Kindle. So it came out pure gibberish.
  6. I am sure the breeders and trainers must have had joyful tears and deep satisfaction the way this has worked out.
  7. I think I will sit all day between hanging clothes and bringing them in,really need to do the dishes. Yesterdays 4 mile walk did me in and of course there were other things I did. Still don't have my car.
  8. If you dehydrate potatoes not long enough they will smell just like rotten potatoes because that is what they are.
  9. Nice weather, cleaned kitchen, waited on neighbor that said sh would come by. She took me to town, went to the library to print out a manual I need to be reading. Found out i do not know enough about this "shop" computer to use it . So shouldered the computer bag and walked home. I like Joy walking with me as it looks like I am just exercising her. I have picked up only one bucket of cones and need to pick up another bucket before calling it quits or it gets dark. I am going to share some lavender oil with someone(s) I am allergic to it..never could stand the smell of it.
  10. Cactus, porcupine do you know how to the quills out of yourself or your animals? You talk about things you need to take, have you prepared your kits or BOB for the little things that could blow up into something big? What about nail punctures? Any of these punctures could happen any day anywhere. I am going to say Epsom salts is your friend. The drawing salve should also be in every medicine chest. I definitely will add it to mine as well as charcoal.
  11. Don't think it ever all came out. It was flirting with gangrene yesterday. Got that stopped but have so much swelling.
  12. MtRider you mentioned milk and bread. I had no bread so I could not try it. Would you explain how you used it. I think there are goathead stickers in Texas that can painful to barefeet or pet's feet. So far the best I have used has been the banana peel. I did react to the lavender.
  13. This common malady needs to be addressed. Please add types of thorns ,stickers from your area. Tree and proven remedies would be helpful also. I am going to start out with a case history of my DD. She was wearing sandals running in the meadow when a dry stuab penetrated her heel. I took one look at it and knew it was beyond me. I took her to the ER as it was late in the summer evening. They looked askance of me that I would ask for splinter removal...11/2 hour later they were almost desperate. It was no laughing matter. The dry staub had shattered under the skin. It all ended well no infection. Splinters from Penta or creosote or other treated posts used for fencing can cause agonizing pain and to say the least are poisonous. Thorns from locust trees can also cause dreadful pain. Some thorns..after penetration though you may remove it the tip breaks off under the skin. Remedies Salt or Epsom salts mixed with honey will draw painfully and can pull splinters out. Honey is a natural antibiotic. The inside of the banana peel taped to the splinter area will draw powerfully!! Today I am going use lavender and tea tree oil and hope I will not react to the lavender. I have tried the above remedies and each have drawn more of the splinter out of my finger.

    D.I.Y. Bandages

In casting my DD was allergic to the cast material even though there was the 'glove' put on first . The cast had to be taken off and a second glove put on. 55 years ago when my arm was broken-greenbreak-it was wrapped in cotton strips. The knowledge of correct bandaging can also be used on animals.
  15. Smile yesterday is over. A young Amish man came and installed a SS chimney so now I have heat again. This mild weather has been wonderful, now to get my car fixed! I got a nasty big splinter in my finger so put a honey Epsom salts poultice on it last night. Think by the looks of the bandage the nasty got pulled out!! But the splinter is big and long maybe it will work itself through my finger and come out on the other side!
  16. All I can read is for the most part, doctors tell patients to listen to their own bodies and eat accordingly. Main prescription is glucose tablets. But nothing I have read gits everyone even part of the time. I do not, nor ever have eaten a lot of sugar. I simply do not like sweet food! I can with sugar but it is always with light syrup, my jellies may not firm as well because I use far less sugar than the recipe calls for. Being old fashioned, Sarah,I prefer the old way of looking at things. Grin..
  17. We have talked about hyperglycemia but what about hypoglycemia? Is there anyone else in this family that has too much insulin in their body?
  18. Has anyone priced things they want BEFORE black Friday? I see markups that are giving shoppers regular price, on Amazon anyway. So far I have bought nothing but I priced led lights..weeks ago and they are higher now.. That is just one thing.
  19. Depending... on type of mange..ivomectrin would probably work as a chemical otherwise essential oils. Mange is very contagious
  20. DD brought dinner.... turcken as she called it as it was chicken gourmet seasoned...turnip salad!!! a potato dish, gravy, and dressing...all with her special touch. I provided freshly made cranberry sauce (cranberries were $.79 at Aldis) cheesecake topped with cherries and coffee.
  21. I found myself in NZ! Who knew I could travel so far in a book!! Now I am picking flowers and watching the fleecy clouds go by as I lay on my back in the lush grass. I am beginning to feel
  22. Walking one evening we found needles..lots of them. We asked someone about it,and found that the needles were stolen from the hospital. ..used needles! We called the sheriff's dept. They said don't touch them they were are would be watching the area. They also cracked down on the hospital as used needles are not supposed to be where anyone can get them. Cat I am glad you are ok!
  23. It is a still small voice that speaks. We have the choice to listen or ignore it. Thank you for sharing.
  24. Well I am not going to get into the debate of squash and pumpkin! Grin! My way of thinking is that pumpkins are all sizes/colors but with a particular taste. Squash is the table variety that are summer fruiting or keepers like acorns or Hubbards. But then my late DH and I went round and round about the difference in peas and beans...... so is it choice or fact?????
