Littlesister
Talked with my granddaughter that lives in CA. She and her DH just moved into their new house a couple of weeks ago. She has been stocking food, paper products and anything else she might need in case of trouble. She had gone to a big box store to buy canned goods and she said she drove in and they were rioting at the door so she left really fast. She is now sticking with the mom and pop stores and going to all the farms that is around her. She is in the country. Said they have a dairy farm, a farm where she can get all the meat she wants and lots of local farmers selling veggies. She is hitting all of them hard. She is also looking for a big chest freezer and having trouble finding one. Seems they are sold out there as well. She is going to retire when she turns 40. She traveled all over the world for her job and now she is working from home. She is not allowed now to travel out of country due to the Corvid virus. She is 35 years old now and will be 36 in Nov. So 4 1/2 years she will be retired. Though her DH will still be working. So I now have two granddaughters that are gearing up for whatever happens. 5 Link to comment

Ambergris
Texas hospital forced to set up 'death panel' as Covid-19 cases surge Michael Sainato The GuardianJuly 25, 2020, 11:00 PM A surge in coronavirus cases in rural Texas has forced one hospital to set up “death panels” to decide which patients it can save and which ones will be sent home to die. Doctors at Starr County Memorial Hospital, the only hospital in Starr County, have been issued with critical care guidelines to decide which Covid-19 patients it will treat and which ones will be sent home because they are likely to die. The committee is being formed to alleviate the hospital’s limited medical resources so doctors can focus on patients with higher survival rates. Starr county began experiencing increases in coronavirus cases in early July, with 1,769 confirmed cases reported as of 24July, 17 confirmed fatalities and 33 fatalities pending confirmation from the state. The county had gone several weeks in the early months of the coronavirus pandemic without reporting any cases. Starr county, along the US-Mexico border, has a population of around 64,000 people. Officials blamed social gatherings for the surge in cases. “We are seeing the results of socialization during the 4th of July, vacations, and other social opportunities,” wrote Starr county Judge Elroy Vera on the county’s Facebook page. “Unfortunately, Starr County Memorial Hospital has limited resources and our doctors are going to have to decide who receives treatment, and who is sent home to die by their loved ones.” The county issued a shelter in place order on 24 July, and enacted curfews and mandatory face coverings. The first hurricane of 2020 to make landfall in the US, category one Hurricane Hanna, travelled through Starr county over the weekend, forcing some drive-through testing centers to temporarily close down. “I have been a nurse for almost 30 years and I had never seen a time like this in our community,” said Corando Rios, a nurse at Starr County Memorial Hospital’s Covid-19 unit. He tested positive for coronavirus a few days ago and is recovering at home in quarantine. “We are not ICU [intensive care unit] capable, but we are doing ICU work. We now have a state emergency response team of nurses, medics, respiratory therapists, and nurse assistants, and last week two doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists came from the US Navy,” added Rios. “We are doing the best we can with the resources available.” The guidelines have been referred to as “death panels” by critics of the Trump administration. The phrase was first popularized by Republican critics of Barack Obama’s healthcare reforms when they inaccurately claimed “death panels” would be used to decide who received critical treatment. Starr county is not the first place to be forced to draw up guidelines for which Covid 19 patients it will treat. Critical care standards were first enacted in the US in Arizona on 3 July in response to requests from health service providers around the state. In early July, Arizona became a global coronavirus hot spot, though rates of positive cases have decreased since then. “The standards have been activated by the state but I don’t think hospitals are using them right now,” said Will Humble, executive director of the Arizona Public Health Association. At present hospitals transfer coronavirus patients to different facilities to avoid capacity issues. “That may change this fall as demand for non-covid hospitalization begins to increase.” Edited July 26, 2020 by Ambergris 3 Link to comment
Midnightmom
On 7/24/2020 at 4:35 PM, Jeepers said: I see people, mostly guys, get out of their car and tie a bandana on. Problem is, the bottom part is hanging loose. They look like the bad guys in a John Wayne western. Then they get back in the car and take it off. You know they are using the same 'mask' in the next store they go in. Probably using the same one for weeks at at time if the truth be known. This IS the new reality, and also almost 100% proof that the continuing health "crisis" is political, not medical. Here in CA, all that is required is a "face covering" much like you just described. And even those aren't worn correctly most of the time by those who favor the idea. Lots of people are walking around with bandannas covering their mouths but their nose is hanging out over the top of it. The danger here is that, while they think they are being good little citizens and helping to stop the spread of CV19, they are in fact still sending possibly contaminated respirations out into the atmosphere! The other "danger" is, these are the "Karen" types who confront those in non-compliance with their state't EOs. At least if I'm NOT wearing a mask you "know" you need to stay 6 ft away from me, but you think you are "safe" as long as I have my mouth covered! Here is an interesting video about the whole debacle. Be warned that "Mr. Salty" uses very salty language! 1 1 Link to comment
Ambergris
In those ten states graphed above, it is medical as opposed to political. In other states, the question is whether you want to join the medical club. 1 Link to comment
Mt_Rider
So far it's pretty obvious that state advisories/mandates/rulings increase mask-wearing only somewhat. The bottom line is: we all have personal responsibility for our own choices. And to follow what we believe is safe for us. Obviously others passing this virus around with COVID PARTIES and other really risky behavior is NOT helping our choices. BUT ultimately, we are responsible for us. ---IF..... after doing research on specific mask types AND HOW TO WEAR THEM....if that isn't what individuals choose to do.. ---IF.... other individuals believe the masks have at least enough benefit to warrant wearing them, even if others around do not..... We're never going to come to complete consensus on this [or any other topic]. Soooo...go to Plan B....INDIVIDUAL CHOICE. Personally, I've chosen a fairly drastic mode to keep my risk very low for myself. I HAVE THE OPTION to simply not. go. out. Or very VERY little, like medical appt. Loads of folks do not have that option. But many can choose that more than they do...but simply don't want to chose that option. [ahem...you do have to get creative so as not to go crazy with this option but I've had a decade or more experience with that already]. Other individual options: ..Wearing a mask that's as good as you can find/make/afford .....and sanitizing with whatever latest research you believe, is another option. ....If others are not wearing a mask...or not wearing what you believe to be inadequate mask/not sanitizing up to the standards you believe in.......anyone has the right to DISTANCE. Leave the store. Back up 10 paces. Go to the next aisle. Whatever you chose to do that is within YOUR personal options in that moment. LOOK for your choices.... This is the opposite of mandates upon others. Because some others have not drawn the same conclusion about masks... as is their RIGHT. ....and some don't care to THINK and RESEARCH and draw CONCLUSIONS. They just want to live as they always have but that's the third category of "non-informed/not-interested" folks. [not likely to find them at MrsS.] Cuz this is American culture [well, for most of us at MrsS but not all ] and we don't follow mandates all that well. If this is true, then we are RESPONSIBLE TO USE OUR INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM for choices wisely. Since early March I've had exposure thru: DH's job [he wears mask/changes clothes/shower] - higher risk and he's cutting that back soon. few minutes in feed store nephew-wife-son visited us [they slept in tent LOL cuz we don't have room] - most high risk due to their choices DH's trips to grocery in early hours twice a month - certainly some risk talked with my folks at distance on their porch twice doc appt last week - only saw 4 other people in that side of bldg....yet, it's airborne These were my choices and I reduced risk without relying on anyone else's choices. I take other people's choices in mind when deciding what my choices will be.... The only community risk that involves all of us is overrunning the medical facility. That is one way the choices of others will threaten me. Even more, I need to make personal choices: as in....REDUCE MY RISK to NEED the ER or ICU. Yeah, note to self: STOP FALLING DOWN....or at least land better! This is my view. NO simple answers. This situation has been hard and is continuing to be hard. This is how I choose to look at it and maneuver around it. MtRider .....we've been doing "Distance Hugging" for decades, riiight? Edited July 26, 2020 by Mt_Rider 3 Link to comment

Ambergris
Florida now has second-most confirmed COVID-19 cases More than 9,300 new cases were reported in Florida on Sunday, along with 78 new deaths. The state has recorded more than 5,000 new cases per day for 33 consecutive days. Florida’s nearly 424,000 coronavirus cases as of Sunday are surpassed only by California, which has more than 450,000. With 39.5 million residents, California has almost double Florida’s population of 21.4 million. New York, slightly less populous than Florida with 19.4 million residents, has close to 412,000 cases and was once the epicenter of the virus in the U.S. Texas, the only state besides California with more people than Florida, has about 390,000 cases. – Rachael Thomas, Florida Today; Associated Press 2 Link to comment

It has really saved us money on window shopping. It's time we learned to live on less and not demand so much as a nation. With the riots increasing in intensity and violence, I'm not about to expose us to such insanity. I'm so thankful when we retired we went back to the country, and now have mama living with us. I'd be so stressed if she had been left in the city with her depression and dementia. 2 Link to comment

out_of_the_ordinary
Is anyone else very concerned that the mask mandates will turn into the vaccine mandates? Right now, many governors signed mandates requiring masks to be worn to enter places of business, medical care, anywhere near other people, ect. In the not too distant future, will those same places require a "vaccine certificate"/proof of vaccine to enter? I look at the reasons for mask wearing and think most of those reasons will be used to urge, then force, vaccines. 1 2 Link to comment
Littlesister
Don't know how many people know what the Bible says about the end times. But we are now nearing the end of the Church age. They allow abortion clinics to remain open, but churches must close. Though some are having stay in your car services and such at this time. They will close our churches down again. We are heading for a cashless society. There is no coin shortage. Thank about it. Gov. control. Our food suppliers are closing due to workers getting the virus. Our shortage of tin for making cans for veggies in stores, (China made) thus our canning supplies also China. There are no manufactures here in the USA any longer as our government sold us out to China. And yes this virus will not be mandatory at first but that is coming down the pipes. ( Mark of the beast). They will have something in those viruses about the size of a grain of rice that can track your every move. And yes if you check it out you will find prove of what is really going on. I will try to find the info about it again. I should have saved it. Go on some of these Christian sites. Jan Markell is one of those. There are others as well that talk about end times prophecy. The far left is no longer what we think it is. They want more power, money and full control of we the people. black lives matter and the other things are not what you think either. They the government is and the evil that is behind it. George Soros and Bill Gates are two that are using their trillions of money to fund what is happening in the USA. You really need to do a lot of research on this. It is what I have been doing until DH got sick a few months ago. I really need to go back and do more research as soon as I can but you really need to check this stuff out. None of it is what you think it is. Read up on Venezuela and other countries like them. It's heading our way. 3 Link to comment
Ambergris
Republican senator Jason Rapert was hospitalised with coronavirus and pneumonia on 24 July. Earlier in the year, as many states were beginning to take social distancing measures to attempt to control the spread of the virus, Mr Rapert shared an article on Facebook that called the pandemic the “biggest political hoax in history”. He has been critical of policies taken to stop the spread of Covid-19 in various social media posts over the last few months and was filmed last week not wearing a face mask at a church service, according to Raw Story. Although the senator has been pictured wearing a mask previously, he has also been critical of Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson’s executive order that made wearing a face covering mandatory in the state when people are outside and when social distancing is not possible. Mr Rapert described the mandate as “an overreach of executive power without consultation with the members of the Arkansas legislature,” in a social media post last week. The senator added: “I understand the governor has expanded authority during a declared state of emergency, but with most people already complying where necessary and the death rates, hospitalisation rates and positivity test rates all hovering just below 1% in our state — I believe this mandate was ill timed and not necessary.” Speaking about the mandate, Mr Hutchinson said: “We believe this is important from a public health standpoint,” and added: “It is something that is necessary in Arkansas with the cases we’ve had.” Following his hospitalisation, Mr Rapert released a statement, where he wrote that “this is a difficult time for my family, but we know that God is with us always. We’re sincerely grateful for the many prayers of love and support that have been expressed on our behalf. We have all been doing our best to wear a mask, social distance and be careful like everyone else. This virus is serious and can attack anyone regardless of age or general health.” Arkansas recently saw a rise in coronavirus cases and last week recorded its second and third highest daily totals since the pandemic began, with 10,013 on Wednesday and 990 on Thursday, according to AlterNet. On Sunday, the state recorded another 642 new positive test results, which took its overall total to 38,623 cases and 401 deaths. According to a tracking project hosted by Johns Hopkins University, in the US as a whole, some 4.2 million people have tested positive for coronavirus. The death toll has reached at least 146,935. 1 Link to comment

Ambergris
Little Sister, the average person's phone and the chips in all those debit and bank cards track his or her every move. They don't have to or want to track individuals; they want to track movements, the swarm of dots you see moving when you see a flock or a school or a herd from a distance...no single person (card-carrying or not) is important unless he or she causes a change in the movement of the other dots--and if that person does, that person becomes visible enough. The masses of dots are already visible, are already tracked. The patterns of movement are already bought and sold. The herds are already herded. They don't need any tracking device in a covid vaccine, and if they wanted an implanted tracking device, it would be put in something that was already used. You are listening to the wrong people. We are staring at the meltdown of our age, and we have to keep our attention focused on what the actual dangers are. Don't let wild stories distract you, keep you from recognizing the real dangers of these very confusing days. Edited July 28, 2020 by Ambergris Link to comment
Littlesister
The Bible speaks of a mark in the right hand or for head. Not one you carry around. The vaccine may very well be what that mark is. go to Jan Markell and you can learn a lot about what is happening behind the all this mess going on. My phone is in a case that can't be tracked. So are my cards. Others are doing the same thing. So it would have to be a mark in the body to trace us. The Bible speaks that you will not be able to buy nor sale without the mark. Thus, there has already been talk about if you don't get this vaccine you will not be allowed to go anywhere. Children that don't get vaccinated will not be allowed in school. So no vaccine no work. No buying of food or anything else till you get that vaccine. This is coming down the pipes rather we like it or not. I don't know how to explain this any better. Maybe others that know Bible prophacy can word it better than me. Link to comment
Ambergris
By the mark, you're probably talking about the hand-stamp required to get through a checkpoint, don't you think? Something that could be changed in an instant, kept as fluid as the situation demanded. An inserted device wouldn't allow that. And an inserted device is not a mark on the hand or the forehead. Nobody gets a vaccination where the skin is so close to bone. Link to comment

She said that was doable. She also agreed she should let DH do the bulk of their shopping. She might go in for something she wants to pick out or see for her self. That will take some of the strain off of her. Thanks again, Little sister, for mentioning this possibility for Congestive Heart. MtRider Edited July 28, 2020 by Mt_Rider goofy typo 3 Link to comment
Mt_Rider
Not that this is new news......but it doesn't instill any confidence in me. They say for the vaccine to be effective, 80% (?) will have to take this? Meeee! Me! I wanna be in the 20% control group! This is a Twitter link so.....don't know if it will work. ....anyone see a stat on How Long the antibodies will last? Cuz natural antibodies are not seeming to last but a few months. Littlesister
Think of Bill Gates as being another George Soros. I don't trust anything from this guy. For one he is behind things that is by no means good for this country. And also no vaccine can be mass produced in a few short months. It takes a good 2 to 4 years to mass produce a vaccine. I will not be getting this from this company that both Bill Gates and Fauci will be making millions from. And they both support the Clinton foundation that is evil to its core. I could say more about it, but will leave it with this. 5 Link to comment
TheCG
My thinking is, if you can make an effective vaccine for a coronavirus, why don't we have one for the common cold? 4 1 Link to comment
Ambergris
There are thousands of different "cold" viruses. There are 144 different flu viruses of the A type that can normally attack humans (combining 16 types of HA and 9 types of NA). There's also the B type that attacks humans, but it's less likely to cause a pandemic. Last I heard, there were three major variants of the Covid virus, and one of them was very unstable (eight minor variants, wasn't it?) An "effective" vaccine for this virus would probably work statistically, as in "if you give this group of 1000 people the vaccine and keep this group of 1000 people vaccine-free, the vaccinated population will have X-percent fewer cases" (or will have X percent fewer deaths, or whatever the target goal is.)
