Everywhere I look blooms are bursting forth! Our gorgeous ornamental Pear Trees are solid white with tiny beautiful flowers. The peach trees are covered in delicate pink adornments. The plum trees are starting to display a little color as well.
Seasons are a lovely gift that the Lord has bestowed upon us. Each has it's on purpose and is necessary.
The important thing to remember about seasons is that they change. It's not going to stay as rainy or cold or hot or dry or humid as

Today, right after Sacrament, I was asked by our Food Storage person to give a 2-3 minute talk on "How I use my food storage:|"
First, she wanted me to give it in less than an hour...TWICE... and second she was asking someone who gets panic attacks (for real) when people look at her funny. She knows that I buy bulk items from the cannery from her each year when I can, and that I am on a strict budget and rotate food storage
But despite misgivings, I said yes.

I am spending my free time spring cleaning. Spring is almost here and I want to get ahead of the curve! The weather has been nice and opening the windows to let the fresh air in with the time change has given me spring fever.
My sewing is everywhere! on my dining room table I have fabric ready to be cut out for my evening gown... well more of a cocktail dress for a Christmas Party actually while my sewing room has fabric ready to be cut out for a 'sloper' (basic pattern by which all designs
Here are 2 of our newly constucted raised beds. The husband of my dear friend put them together for me. He also made a stool that you see upside-down on the far corner. We need another trip to Home Depot for a few more boards to complete the job. BTW the date is so wrong on these pics. All were taken 3/09.
Another friend who has use of a tractor leveled a spot, and graded our driveway while he was here

Well it has finally rained in North Texas. Somewhere in excess of 4" this week, all of it slow-falling and soaking in well, but all of it MUCH needed too! Though it does mean that the grass is going to need mowing. Supposedly it will be sunny tomorrow, but I won't believe it until I see it.
Yesterday I decided I was tired of buying store-bought bread. I haven't been able to make bread from my stored wheat since 1/8 and my surgery. I don't have a mixer--I AM the mixer & kneader of
God has entrusted each of us with much of value as well. And to whom much is given, much is required. (Luke 12:48)

Greetings everyone and welcome to the first installment of my Emergency Treatment blog, this installment will cover bone fractures with primary emphasis on the extremities.
First things first, what is a fracture? What is the difference between a fractured bone and a broken bone? A bone is considered 'fractured' when the structural integrity of the bone has been comprimised in any way. A break and a fracture are actually the exact same thing, a broken bone medically is referred to as a com
Ergazomai ἐργάζομαι Part II
As I read the parable that Jesus told in Matthew 25 I was keenly interested in how each of them reacted and then the results of the actions that they individually took.
Remember, I had been praying about what I should do next, what I should with what I had, what I should focus on.
As I began to read the verses where Ergazomai ἐργάζομαι was used, I began to get a better understanding of what the word meant. Here are a few more of the verses. I
this is very aggrivating for me
whenever i log in it says it's the wrong password...
then i have to say i "forgot my password" and get a new one.
mom says the program might have a "flood control" feature. this would mean that when mom and me are logging on on the same computer the system would stop us from logging on. ...or something like that... i dont know...
i hope it will all be settled soon.
I love Word Studies!
And this word caught my attention. Ergazomai ἐργάζομαι It is a Greek word that is found in the Scriptures 39 times. These are all found in the New Testament of course since it is a Greek word.
I came across this word as I was reading the parable of the Talents found in Matthew. I have been doing some contemplating in the last week or so about living a purposed life and making my moments count.
In this parable, Jesus tells of three servants
I am so glad I have this tool, of writing to you, it will allow me to express my feelings about you and the role you are playing in my life. Procrastination, you have really jumbled up my life. When I realized how helpless you make me feel, the lies you tell me, how much of the devil is in you, it certainly ticked me off. I do hate the grip you have had on me in the past, and the insiduous way you still, so subtly, sneak into my every day life still, despite the actual f
The ides of March for me have been bad.
March 8 seems a diabolical anniversary. On this date, in 1973, I got engaged to someone I thought was a wonderful, God-fearing man. I soon learned he was domineering, tyrannical, and abusive but I thought I had to stay with him anyway because the church said I had to and my minister said it was God's will that I do. God hates a divorcing, they told me. So I resolved to make it work.
Within 6 years, on March 8, I had cancer surgery for the
One of the posts this week in the food forums was on comfort food and poverty cooking. For a good page or so of posts, people were talking about biscuits, homemade biscuit mix, and even gravy. So, to that note, I share this story.

When my husband and I were first married, I asked him what he wanted for his birthday dinner. I told him that I would happily make it for him, complete with whatever dessert he wanted.
He was hesitant to reply.
I'm a busy mom, I get tired, overwhelmed and just outright pooped sometimes.
In the past, on a day like that, I'd ask dh to stop by and pick up something convenient. After all, hungry kids, a frustrated mom, lack of time, a small crisis of some manner, and etc... were the recipe for disaster. And so I excused it. Now, while we still eat out (very occasionally), it is a planned event, not a matter of convenience.
In my life, Convenience has been Redefined.
It started rathe
Gosh, after last week's 80deg temps, the last couple of days have been downright frigid! Sub-freezing temps, mucho wind, and the sunshine just didn't help warm stuff up enough. So why am I feeling grouchy? I'm on the downhill side of the monthly thing, so that's not it. DH has been in a good mood, so that's not it. Stress? Yeah, I suppose so, and some odd dreams, but......maybe I'm suddenly feeling old. I think that's a big part of it.
So much to do and so little time to do it. Pr
oooh this is a really cool program. recipies, blogs, lot's of different designs for the theme... what more could you want?
I can't wait till spring!!!
especially in late may when the mushrooms pop up and we can fry them up to eat.
i get tomorrow off of school
ok this is becoming pretty random thoughts...
i'm drinking hot cocoa. chocolaty.
ok. the only reason i did this post is so that my blog wouldn't be empty.
Friday night was a blast. Actually the entire day was a blast. It was my older daughter's 12th birthday party celebration. A Twilight Party -- because both she and I am into Twilight and love both the movie and the books. In fact she has read all four books and read them TWICE! I have only read them once. She is a fount of trivia about Twilight and quotes it constantly.
So we planned a party. I wish I had pictures but it was a choice of printing out pictures for the party (decorations, t-s
I went out today and loaded up on supplies. I've got a good start again now, so I feel better about what I have although I still have a long way to go before I can breathe easy. But can you ever breathe easy, no matter how much you have? For every one thing I bought today I can still think of ten more things I need! But at least now I can pick up a few extra things every time I go out.
I've been recording everything on paper with the expiration dates and where they are so rotating won't be
This will be another step back to being the Land of the Free!
There have been people refusing to fill Birth control scrips because they do not believe in Birth Control. I found this completely unacceptable. If you work in a pharmacy your job is to give me my meds, no matter what your beliefs.
Otherwise, you are inflicting your beliefs on me. What is next? not believing in pork?
I went to physical therapy this morning for my first treatment. I don' t see where any thing good or bad came from it. One thing that struck me as odd is the therapist asked me why I was there. I told him because my doctor told me to. This guy is supposed to be as good as one can be in his field. He looked at 30 years worth of MRI's and asked if I was going to have surgery. He expressed more concern with the L5 area than the others. He asked if I had any numbness or tingling in the pelvic region
